Ian Hampson - FCA
Bolton born and bred Ian first started work at Hill Eckersley in 1979 articled to Stephen Hill. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and was made a partner in 1987. He has since worked his way through to his current position as Senior Partner in the firm.
He specialises in providing an “all round” service to clients in respect of their accounts and taxation affairs.
An avid skier and a lifelong Bolton Wanderers fan he is married to Jane with two children.

Andrew M Nicholls - FCA
Andrew lives in Rossendale and trained and qualified with one of the then ‘Big 6’. He joined the firm in 1989 and was made a Partner in 1991. Andrew has extensive audit, accountancy and tax experience working with all sizes of owner-managed businesses. He is the firm’s Senior Statutory Auditor.
Andrew is married to Julie, a keen golfer and enjoys spending time on a touch line or boundary edge watching his son play football and cricket.

Jan McGarraghy - ACA
Jan joined Hill Eckersley in June 2011.
Jan trained at Deloitte, qualifying in 2001, where she worked in both the audit and forensic departments. In 2004, she moved to a mid-tier firm as an audit manager specialising in owner managed businesses.
Jan spends most of her spare time entertaining her two young boys, who enjoy trips to the park and visiting steam railways and transport museums.

Ian Leyland
Ian is from Wigan and started working in a local accountancy practice in 1991. Ian joined Hill Eckersley in 2003.
Ian’s work is predominantly the preparation of accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies, management accounts for a wide range of businesses plus completion of Self Assessment Tax Returns and Corporation Tax Returns.
Away from the office, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, going on family holidays and supporting Everton F.C.

Stephen Wilson
Stephen joined Hill Eckersley in 2007 and heads up the Bookkeeping Department where he is responsible for maintaining client’s accounting records and preparing Vat Returns.
Out of work Stephen enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to Rock Music and playing the guitar.

Cath Dutton
Cath joined Hill Eckersley in 2007 working as a receptionist and was promoted to the position of Personal Assistant to Ian Hampson in 2010.
Outside work, Cath enjoys pub quizzes, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Andy Jones
Andy joined Hill Eckersley in 2001 and is AAT qualified. He mainly deals with limited company and sole trader accounts, along with general taxation work.

Louise Morgan
Louise Joined Hill Eckersley in 1989, for 12 years, qualifying in 2001 for AAT. She re-joined the team in 2016.
She enjoys her family of 3 children and 4 grandchildren and going with them on holiday to Florida. She is also an avid fan of Star Trek and Science Fiction.

Bill McCarthy
Bill joined Hill Eckersley in 2012 after spending 35 years in practice with two other Bolton practices. He has extensive knowledge dealing from sole traders to the audit of limited companies.
Away from work he is married with 3 adult children and enjoys travel, reading and the occasional pint.

Nicola Jones
Nicola re-joined Hill Eckersley in 2019 working as a Personal Assistant to Andrew Nicholls.
Outside work Nicola enjoys sunshine holidays, reading, the odd glass of wine and spending time with family and friends.

Neil Wright
Neil is semi-retired and has worked on a part-time basis since joining in 2014. Neil’s work is mainly the accounts of sole traders and limited companies.
Away from the office Neil is a keen crown green bowler and is also an avid Bolton Wanderers fan.
He is married to Julie and has two grown up children.

Michelle Barnes
Michelle joined Hill Eckersley in 2019 in the payroll department on a part-time basis. Outside work Michelle’s three children keep her busy with football, swimming and dancing clubs.
Michelle enjoys swimming and long walks with her family, friends and also the family dog.
